CounterCost ("we," "us," "our") operates the website countercost.com and provides procurement intelligence services for roofing contractors.

What We Collect

When you use our site and services, we may collect:

  • Name, company name, and email address you provide via our forms
  • Supplier quotes and pricing documents you upload
  • Usage data collected through Plausible Analytics (privacy-focused, no cookies, no personal data)
  • UTM parameters and referral information from your visit
  • Device type (mobile or desktop) for analytics purposes

How We Use Your Data

  • To generate your Material Leakage Report
  • To send RFQs to suppliers on your behalf (Managed Desk and Full Procurement tiers)
  • To build aggregated, anonymized market pricing intelligence
  • To communicate with you about your account and reports
  • To improve our services based on anonymized usage patterns

Your Supplier Quotes

Supplier quotes you upload are used exclusively to generate your reports and to build our aggregated pricing intelligence. Individual quote data is never shared with other contractors or with suppliers. When used for market intelligence, all data is anonymized and aggregated so no individual contractor or specific pricing arrangement can be identified.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Plausible is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. No consent banner is required.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers who help us operate (form processing, email delivery)
  • Suppliers, only when you authorize us to send RFQs on your behalf

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you maintain an active account. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 90 days, after which it is deleted. You may request immediate deletion at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
